Inaugural Artist Award Recipient 2021

Priscilla Art Club of Dallas

in February 2020, the Priscillas began a strategic planning process to imagine the future of strengthening the legacy of the 100-year old club. As such the women endeavored to re-establish a philanthropic practice of supporting the arts. A prevailing topic was to provide sponsorship / scholarship for emerging artist. As such in 2021, members of the ad hoc strategic planning committee reviewed over 50 Black woman visual artist who were emerging and based in Texas, as ideal candidates to receive a cash award. The evaluation process considered the artist‘s quality of work, creativity, use of materials and thoughtfulness with concepts and themes.

Artist Jessica Bell is one of two artist who received this award.
